The Civic Federation is pleased to announce that Karin M. Norington-Reaves, CEO of the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, will be our 2016 Motorola Solutions Foundation Excellence in Public Service Award honoree. The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership is now the second largest federally funded workforce agency in the United States. This was accomplished by merging three Cook County workforce boards. Prior to her appointment by President Preckwinkle and Mayor Emanuel, Ms. Norington-Reaves served as Director of Cook County Works and was the Deputy Director of the Office of Urban Assistance for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO). This year’s award breakfast will be held on Thursday, December 8 at the Palmer House Hilton, 17 East Monroe, Chicago, beginning with a reception at 8:00 a.m.
