By serving on our various policy committees, Civic Federation members actively participate with staff in developing the research, information, and action produced by the Federation. Local government leaders are invited to speak at Civic Federation Board meetings and forums, affording members the opportunity to engage in dialogue with local public officials.
The Federation bi-annually presents the Abel E. Berland Award for Outstanding and Exemplary Service to the Civic Federation to a member at our Annual Meeting.
In addition to annual membership dues, members are encouraged to attend and support the Civic Federation's Annual Awards Luncheon. Each year, the Federation honors the civic achievements of an extraordinary citizen with the Lyman J. Gage Award and a corporation responsible for advancing the civic well-being of the Chicago area with the Addams-Palmer Award. Read more about Civic Federation events.
