The Civic Federation has also received awards for our evidence-based, independent research.

The Governmental Research Association awarded the Institute for Illinois’ Fiscal Sustainability at the Civic Federation a Most Distinguished Research Award in 2010 for our “Fiscal Rehabilitation Plan for the State of Illinois” project, which described the basis of Illinois’ fiscal crisis and offered a comprehensive plan to put the State back on solid financial footing.
The Civic Federation was awarded the prestigious Governmental Research Association Outstanding Policy Achievement Award in 2007 for our leadership of the successful campaign to dissolve the Suburban Cook County TB Sanitarium District.
Also in 2007, Federation research on the effects of the “7% cap” on property taxes in Cook County received a Certificate of Merit for Most Distinguished Research.
